What you may not know about clay.
WHAT ARE YOUR QUESTIONS?
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE CLAY?
At Blackjack Clay Inc. we use geologists to find out if your land has the potential for mineable or diggable deposits of clay. We negotiate with the land owner to obtain the rights, this is normally in a contract form called a clay lease
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE CLAY?
Here at Blackjack Clay Inc. we will negotiate an offer with you to lease the land for a clay lease. From then we will test the land to determine if there is sufficient quality and quantity of clay. We also may offer to buy the land.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LAND AFTER THE CLAY IS DUG UP?
We reclaim the land by filling the hole using the overburden (dirt removed to get to the clay) or make a lake using the existing materials for the dam. We abide by state mining and reclaiming regulations. We will also contour the sides of the pit.
WILL THIS HURT THE ENVIRONMENT?
No it wont! Clay is a sustainable green material that can be found anywhere and everywhere. It also helps to reduce CO2 emissions that are produced by cement manufacturing.
WHAT IS A CLAY LEASE?
A clay lease, like a mineral lease, is a contract to lease the land you own for a certain period of time in order to dig or mine clay.
HOW LONG IS A CLAY LEASE FOR?
A clay lease is typically around five years. It is entirely dependent on how much clay is in the land.
HOW MUCH WILL I MAKE?
This is entirely dependent on how much clay is on the land, and will be determined after testing. Typically it is much more than you can sell the land for.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY LAND DURING MINING?
There will be a pit dug for the clay soil. There will be a separate road to the clay pit for the machines.
ADVANTAGE OF A LEASE?
The land owner receives money from the lease and can buy more land if they so choose to do. Also, the government cannot use your property to any sort of gas line, water line, electric line, etc.  They must pay the right of eminent domain.
